Just click here to download WinBlit onto your PC. When it is finished downloading follow the  instructions given to install WinBlit on your PC.

2)  If I dont like it can I remove it from my machine?

Yes you can remove it at any time by selecting WinBlit from the programs menu then selecting uninstall. This will completely remove WinBlit from your machine.

3)  OK - I have downloaded the trial version - but what is the difference between this and the full version?

The trial version only works for 30 days. Also you can not read large documents with the trial version. To extend the trial version you must buy the product.

4) Having downloaded and used a trial version I very much like the product. How do I buy a fully licensed  version?

You can buy a fully licensed version by going to the Purchase page. Enter your payment  details or other as instructed. Once your payment has been confirmed you will receive a license key via e-mail.

Select the Registration option in the WinBlit text window (this is the red "R" you see in the toolbar). A dialog box will pop up and into this you must enter the license key exactly as it appeared in the e-mail that was sent to you.  Your version of WinBlit will now be fully functional and legal and you will be entitled to free upgrades.

5)  How much does WinBlit cost?

20 US dollars or its equivalent in your local currency. You can pay in almost any currency.

Installation and Getting started

1)  I have installed WinBlit but the WinBlit icon does not appear in Microsoft Word?

The installation program currently only sets up Word in the login account you installed WinBlit in. If you are logged into a different account which has a different Word startup directory you will need to do the following to set up Word correctly.

        1)      Open Word and select the Tools menu then options. From the options menu select the File Locations tab. You will see an entry called "Startup". Take a note of the path to this folder.

        2)     Close down all instances of Word on your PC.

        3)     Open Windows Explorer and go to the folder c:/PataSucia/WinBlit where the installation program put WinBlit. This may be in a different location if you did not choose the default installation folder. In this folder you will see a file called WinBlitTemplate.dot. You need to copy this file to the "Startup" folder you saw in step 1.

        4)     Open up Word - you now see the WinBlit icon on the ToolBar and a WinBlit option on the Tools menu.

2)  How do I learn how to use WinBlit?

When you install WinBlit you also receive a demo of the product which explains many of its features. To activate this demo open BlitPad. Select Help from the menu at the top of the program and then select Demonstration. Follow the instructions through the demonstration to familiarise yourself with the product.

3)  Why do I need Internet Explorer 5 or later installed for WinBlit Speedread to work?

You need it  because only in this version of Internet Explorer do the web bands work properly. A web band is the name for the browser window that WinBlit sits in.

4)  Where can I get the latest version of Internet Explorer?

You can download Internet Explorer 6 here from Microsoft's web site.

Using WinBlit

1)  I only want to read some  of the text  but all of the document text gets loaded into WinBlit?

In Internet Explorer do the following...

Select the text in Internet Explorer that you wish to read by selecting and dragging the mouse over the text you wish to speedread. Click the WinBlit icon on the toolbar to open up the the speedreading window. This will then only bring up the text which you have selected in the WinBlit window. If the speedreading window is already open then click the icon twice to close it and open it again. When it re-opens it will only have the selected text in the window - (not the whole web page as usual).

In MS Word.....

Select the text in Internet Explorer that you wish to read by selecting and dragging the mouse over the text you wish to speedread. Click the WinBlit icon to bring up the the speedreading window. When it opens it will only contain the text you have selected.

Miscellaneous

1)  What operating systems does WinBlit work with?

Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, NT and XP. Every PC windows Operating system since Windows 95.

2)  How can I contact you if I have a problem?

E-mail us or telelphone us if you have purchased a license. See contacts page for further details.

3)Do I have to pay to upgrade the product if you bring out a newer version?

You will receive free upgrades to all subsequent versions of WinBlit - We have only just gone to v2.4 and this upgrade is available to all of ouur existing customers.

Also so far all Windows upgrades have been free e.g. when Windows 2000 and XP came out we upgraded the product free of charge to work on these new Operating systems. I expect this to be the case for subsequent PC versions as the product was written using a protocol that Microsoft have promised will never change.
