WinBlit Speedread is a new computer program which is a designed to make it easier and quicker for you to read the text
portion of documents on your
Windows PC. It does so by displaying the text from the document in the centre of
a text window. This technique of reading is known as Rapid Serial Visual
Presentation. The advantage of reading in this way is that it reduces eye
movement as the computer brings the text from the document to your
eyes.
WinBlit Speedread lets you read a variety of file formats and works both online and offline.
It's unique functionality is designed to help you read text how you want
to and from where you want to.

Your personal Windows document reader
In designing WinBlit we aimed to create software to enable you to read
what you want to from wherever you are in a manner you enjoy. To achieve this design
objective we have added the following additional functionality to the program.
|
Toolbar and Context menu - A simple media style toolbar allows
operation at the click of a button. Alternatively right-mouse click within the WinBlit
window to bring up a context menu to operate WinBlit.
Shortcut keys - WinBlit can also be operated by the use of
shortcut keys which become available when WinBlit is in focus on your desktop.
Statistics - WinBlit keeps track of the number of words read
and the time to read them and displays them on a status bar at the bottom of the screen.
This allows you to monitor your progress as your speed reading skills improve.
Trackbar - WinBlit has a trackbar to monitor
your progress as you read through a document and also allows you to change your
current position in a document much like a scroll bar in any text editor.

Settings - From the WinBlit text screen you can easily change
the font (style, size and color), screen color, number of words, characters or lines
displayed in each fixation and the speed at which you read. You can easily preview
any changes made to the system.
Configurations - A configuration is a combination of all the
settings described in the previous paragraph. WinBlit comes with 3 already
installed and allows you to set up another 90. You can easily change configurations and
settings while you have a document loaded for reading.
Breakpoints - You can configure WinBlit to pause when you hit a
keyword in your document.
